Amid so much uncertainty, your usual end-of-year strategic planning process will likely be more challenging than ever. In her September 14 “Let’s Get Growing” video, Bobbie La Porte shares three questions you can ask to approach this annual ritual from a place of possibility and opportunity.

Hi everyone, Bobbie LaPorte here again with this week’s “Let’s Get Growing” tip…where I help you take charge of your plans and accelerate your initiatives as you head into the Q4 of this year.
This is the time of year that many of you are working through the strategic planning process – which, let’s be honest – is rarely welcomed by anyone. It seems to become more daunting and drawn out each year and most leaders look at it as a chore.
And this year it may be very different. With planning considerations around Covid, there are many more unknowns in your assumptions than you might normally have; there are uncertainties for sure in what the Marco environment you are operating in will look like, and you are probably less confident in what you are committing to.
There is no question, this annual ritual is more challenging and confidence-shaking than ever before.
So why not be open to seeing this process from a place of possibility? To saying “What do we have to lose; let’s see what we really can do”; to act, not react.
Here are three questions you might consider to shake-up you’re your normal input to the process:
- How do you look at the current environment as an opportunity to unlock 10x aspirations and do more?
- What beliefs or long-held assumptions do we need to explicitly reset?
- What do we need to say no to or stop doing to create additional space to go bigger and faster?
Consider the changes you have made to your business during the last six months – out of necessity because of the pandemic – that might have taken you years in another time. How can you leverage those successes, the strengths, and assets of our team, and think big about the possibilities for the next 12-18 months?
That’s my “Get Growing” tip of the week. I’ll see you next Monday… remember to see this time as an enabler, not a liability or a time to “pause”, waiting for certainty to return.
Take care of yourself!
